Spring is here...that time of year again...

This was sent to me in a email and I thought it was too cute not to post! :)

Alright ladies, it's that time of year once again!!! I think we need to be reminded of a few things. So my sisters, PLEASE, raise your big toes and repeat after me below... The Open Toed Shoe PledgeAs a member of the Cute Girl Sisterhood, I pledge to follow the Rules when wearing sandals and other open-toe shoes:
  • I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.

  • I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free.

  • I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.

  • I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow. I will shave the hairs off my big toe.

  • I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother, sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.

  • If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back! into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it.

  • I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr. Scholl's if my feet need him.

  • I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.

  • I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages.

  • I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes are as long as my fingers and no sandal makes creepy feet look good.

  • I will promise if I wear flip flops that I will ensure that they actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.

  • I will promise to go to my local nail salon at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are about $20 or $25 and worth EVERY penny).

  • I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of wear... nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals.

Our visit to the zoo with our dearest friends..

We went to the zoo today and boy was it HOTT!! We met up with our friends Katie, Matt and Emma. Emma is their adorable 3 year old and the sweetest little girl who will soon be a big sister in October. Congratulations Katie! I don't have pictures of us as a group, because Katie made me swear that I would not post 1 picture of her. haha ...I can't make fun of her though, because I was the same way when I preggo... I always hid from the camera! :) It was always neck up photos that I would consider, haha! Any hoo we had a great time! We miss them. We only see each other like 3 or 4 times a year and they are seriously, only 2.5 hours away. We plan to make more trips this Summer to visit them, since the gas is back down! :) Thank goodness for that!

Good Morning Sunshine!!

Matt and Terry were being the doting dads they are and pushed our little ones!

That shirt is so true!

We love the carousel!

Skylar was actually scared this time compared to last year's trip.

Look at the difference of a year and what's so funny is that he's wearing almost the same thing and he's on the same Wolf!! That was so not planned too, ahah!

Skylar and his Car Surprise...

When we came home today, we got a surprise at the front door. Skylar got a package from his Grandma and Pappaw. They know how much he loves the movie cars, so they got him some goodies. He was so excited!! Skylar is always a messy eater too, so forgive him in his pictures for being, "A Boy". :)

He was slowly tearing into this, but he was determined!
He got his very own Lightning McQueen, Ka-Chow!
He loved all his goodies in the box, but loved this one the most!! Thank you Grandma and Pappaw!!!

Just some pics...

We had a Skylar-sick weekend. He came down with a viral infection and was the 4th from his class to go home early on Friday from having a temperature. After that, he was just plain sick. Poor little guy. We did till up our garden and planted a few things. We're not going as big as we did last year as that was some hard work! :) We did buy one thing that I have been seeing infomercials on. The topsey turvey upside down tomato plant grower. We planted tomatoes in the garden as well, so I guess we will see which one is better. :)

Anyhoo, here are some pics from Sunday and today since we didn't do too much on Friday and Saturday with sick little man. :(

Here's his boo boo from Easter Sunday when he got in a fight with the bush! It's healing up though. :)
He' s been drooling a lot the past 3 weeks, it makes me wonder if he's teething early for his 2 year molars. Can you get your 2 year molars early? OH gosh...please let us have a few more months!!
WHEE...
I love Dad!!

Easter in Marion (AKA Out West) :)

Today was a busy day. We woke up and Skylar saw his goodies and if you see the first pic, he has a few tears. He got mad when he couldn't get into his goodies fast enough! After that, we headed to Marion to see the whole family. It was so nice to see everyone. The food was great!! Skylar got banged up on his face and belly. I mean, our egg hunts are brutal! Just kidding, he tripped and fell into a bush. Yep, he's my son, that's for sure. Also, to make things worse, I didn't put sunscreen on his face until it was too late and he got a sun burn on his face and arms. Good job mom! haha

Now we're happy!!

Loving his Grandma!!

He was way past nap time here. As he was sitting in Kori's lap. He about fell asleep.

Easter in King

Today we went to King for the Mathis Easter get together. It's always at my brother's house which is perfect to have at. He has a lot of land and tons of fun things to do and play with there. The food was great, although I was Miss Clumsy pants! Since Terry was coming later, I had Skylar and while I was trying to get his food, he didn't want me to put him down (hello-nap time) and well, so once I got the bbq grilled chicken, potatoes, different salads, rolls and veggies on my plate, guess what I did. Yep, I dropped my food, right on their new floor!! To make things worse, I backed up, because well, I was embarrased and then I knocked Holly's cousin's plate too and her fruit fell on the floor too, aha! It was a chain reaction and I was standing there, mouth wide-open with Skylar in one arm and an empty plate in the other. Ahhh....moments like these are the best surrounded by family right? :)

Ready to go hunting! For eggs that is!

Obviously, Skylar is not drinking and driving. That's the bunny's beverage.

Hanging with Nana..

Mom came up last weekend and I haven't had time to post pics or anything of her visit. I'm so proud of her to drive all the way to our house by herself. As an "Asian" and "Filipino" at that, we tend to get lost while driving and really have no sense of direction, HELLO GPS!!! (What a God-send) Anyhoo...

She brought us some of her yummy homecooked food. Skylar loves Pancit! He's a total Asian tot, since he loves rice, lumpia (egg rolls) and everything else my mom makes!

We went to our usual playground spot as well. We had a good time with Nana
