Happy Halloween!

We hope that everyone had a great candy time! :) We sure did....aaaahh...now I'm no longer considered weird about asking for candy! :) Well at least that night, that is. I had Skylar on one hip and we went house to house. We were fortunate to carry on the same tradition of my neice coming to our house and trick or treating with us. She has come the past 4 or maybe 5 years with me and I was sad to think that she might not be able to this year, since we moved further away. Luckily for us, she came! We went to a neighborhood down the road from us, because our neighborhood are all retired folks and well....their lights were off. ha! Oh well... Yasmine's dad Reid stayed at our house to pass out candy while we were off. By the way... NO trick or treaters came. I have 4 bags of candy, plus what Skylar got... What am I going to do with all that? I guess I can make little treat bags for everyone for Christmas...always thinking ahead or just slightly OCD...Back to Halloween, Skylar of course was a little blue scary monster and Yasmine was a beautiful Princess! Terry and I went of course as ourselves, which is too fabulous to describe. :) Totally kidding, ha! Here are some pictures

Skylar took Yasmine's wand and loved it...oh lord...

Pretty princess

Off we go

Fall Festival and change in cars

We had a great weekend, like usual!! On Friday, Skylar's daycare held their Fall Festival and the kids can dress up in their halloween gear and play games for prizes and eat! We had fun, although I think Skylar was not liking his costume all that much, because my guess it was too hot. He looked cute as a button though. My little monster, that's for sure. This made me laugh, because this is a small table with small (low to the ground) chairs and Skylar was eating like normal, but his daddy was eating right beside him, also sitting in a small chair. Skylar was digging for dinasaurs, so he could get a prize. Skylar usually loves Miss Jakima, who was dressed like a princess, but he was not liking his costume all that much. My little monster! (I just got off work...so I was looking lovely....not)

Saturday, we made plans to visit the jeep dealership in WS, (BTW, we only deal with them, because the ones in GSO and HP are horrible!!) and so we traveled there to look at a smaller suv, since I still need the space, but I want better gas mileage. We looked at the Chrysler Pacifica. It kind of looks like a smaller van/station wagon, but it's an SUV, but smaller than my jeep commander. Anyways, it was perfect for us! It's used, but in excellent condition and in the long run, we will be saving so much money. I'm so excited about that and it having better gas mileage than my jeep, HELLO?...that's a no brainer! It also, has a DVD built in, so traveling will be so much nicer for us now! Skylar will be happy and that in turn makes his mom and dad happy! My friend Kelly told me I am such a soccer mom now, ahah! I guess that's a compliment, lol as I do love soccer, but I'm not quite sure if she is also calling me old? hmmm... :) During that time, Grandma Jewell and pappaw Olen came to visit and babysit Skylar and we are so glad they did. There is NO way Skylar would have enjoyed that little, but long trip (hour wise) with us. Skylar instead, went shopping with them at Alamance Crossing and ate so much food. I don't know how he eats sooooo well at Daycare or when he's with them. Now, on the weekends, Skylar will eat like a champ for breakfast, like this morning, he ate a whole thing of mandarin oranges, a waffle and then a whole pancake as that's what I made for everyone. Anyways, at daycare, he's the best eater, as several teachers told me, but when I bring him home at night, I will get two good bites out of him and then nothing...haha! Man, I go off on tangents, but back to the restaurant story, he ate a whole thing of mac and cheese, baked beans, fries dipped in ketchup, chicken tenders and something else. I asked them if it was just bites and Jewell said no and that he acted like he hasn't ate in a long time.. WHAT? Aye Yai Yai..... Maybe, he rather stare intently at me with his loving eyes, than eat... nah...more like throw food and laugh afterwards (that's why I got the monster costume). :) Sunday, we stopped by the farmers market to look for some plants and maybe buy some pumpkins (btw-pumpkins are way too expensive there). We came across this pumpkin house and it was too cute to not stop and take some pics. We meant to go to the Pumpkin Patch to take pictures, but ran out of time. We will do that this week sometime, before Halloween. Btw, what is everyone doing for Halloween? I think we might go trick or treating for an hour and then come back to give out candy. I love seeing the kids all dressed up looking so darn cute!! Anyways, here are some of the pics. I got a smile! He was studying the layout Where's Skylar? Skylar's the one in Orange....um, wait a minute... Climbing as usual So, he can look in...little monkey

15 months appt

Just a little update on Sky-dogg. We went for his 15 month appt on Thursday and he's doing just great! They gave him a full examination (2 shots) and he's just as healthy as can be, considering my last post suggested otherwise, but I will take that diagnosis, that's for sure. :) In just 3 months, well a little under 3 months really, Skylar has grown a 1/2 inch, knocking him up to 33 1/2 inches (again, off the charts) and he gained a whopping full pound, haha!! (25th percentile again at 22 1/2 lbs) and he's still got a big head in the 90th percentile. So to recap, tall and skinny with a big bobble head. Ahh, I love my little monster butt! Don't you love my sweet nicknames for him?

Head, shoulders, knees and toes or...

Hand, foot and mouth! UGH!! So, I get a call from the daycare, you know those dreaded calls...because no news is good news, right? Well, you know when they call, something happened and it's never good. To give you a little update, I noticed Skylar had a couple of blister like bumps on his right hand yesterday, but I just didn't think too much of it. Well, I got that call and apparently, there is a hand foot and mouth epidemic going on at school and Skylar was one of the lucky chosen ones that got infected. Wonderful. The kicker is, he can't go back until the blisters are dried out. so, that could be 2 weeks, according the the doctor. What in the world! So, hopefully, it will past soon. I can't take off work for 2 weeks. Terry and I are taking turns. Skylar has no blisters in his mouth and has 1 on his foot and about 4 on his right hand. Hopefully, when we wake tomorrow, there will be no more that popped up. We plan to give more baths, the oatmeal kind and I'm hoping that will dry those out.

On to other news, Skylar has two more teeth. His "fang" teeth as Torie calls them (ha) came in over the weekend, I never noticed them before and he didn't let us know, since he didn't act like anything was bothering him. His Molars on the other hand, were brutal for us all, but these guys are a piece of cake. :) So, that makes 14 teeth, 8 on top and 6 on bottom. I'm thinking, since they come in pairs usually, his bottom two will come in soon. Then that just leaves the 2nd set of molars and we are good for teeth! :) Please let this happen quickly and pain free!

Party time!! Skylar went to his cousin's 8th birthday party and he had so much fun! There was so much food, as you know, Filipino's cook for an army it seems. You would have thought you were at Golden Coral, but Asian food and pizza/wings. I think I gained a few pounds, but I didn't have cake, so that balances that out, right? Skylar loved eating too. He never stopped. He went from fruit, pizza, egg rolls, fruit, chips, fett Alfredo, back to fruit, some Filipino dessert that he loved and then back to fruit. Don't judge me, he loved it and I was more than happy to fatten his skinny self up! There were so many kids there, than ranged from 4 months old to 16 years old. Skylar seems to really enjoy hanging with the big kids. He was all serious face hanging around in the circle with them, hah! Also, there was a clown that made balloon animals or whatever you wanted him to make. The kids loved it and afterwards, Skylar would try to steal every one's balloons. He was so crazy and kids would start hiding anything like candy, toys or balloons from him. Here comes Skylar, the terrorizer. The funny clown
Sweet Yasmine, having so much fun on her birthday!
A pic of us...we never get those pictures!
The pinata was a hit!
The pinata was broken and there went the kids.
Skylar being sweet for his daddy
Zeb was dancing to the music!
A little peek of what we started, haha! We were supposed to paint the bonus room and well....Terry decided he wanted to do a tile back splash for the kitchen. Um....paint is quicker. I will show the after pic when we're done. This is something that we don't plan to hurry on. We plan to be done by Thanksgiving, because we only have time to do a little at a time. This shouldn't really take too long actually, so then we can paint the bonus room. Ahh, it's never a dull moment at the Presnell Household.

No boys allowed...except Skylar

Those twine balls are kudzu that was twined and wrapped into making a ball and was spray painted pink. Can you say creative?
Everything you see, she did her self basically. It was a tea party theme for princesses and a knight!

Aaah....what a crazy weekend. We had birthday party galores. We were invited to 4 birthday parties, but could only make it to 2. Man, is Skylar a popular dude! Just in case you are wondering about the title. We went to our best friend's daughter's 3rd birthday party yesterday. She has really grown up before our very eyes. She had a fairy tale princess themed party and Skylar was the only boy, so Katie being the creative being she is, made him a knight costume. She made his vest and got him a knight helmet (or whatever they are called?), a sword and a shield. It was too cute. He had to protect his fairy princesses you know....haha. Look at the wonderful decorations that Katie made. I swear, she is so talented. As party favors for the guest, we got handmade and handpainted butterfly pottery ornaments. The little girls got makeup kits and Skylar got some cute books and chew toys (well that's what they will end up being, right?). We had so much fun! About to hurt his dad with the sword
He didn't like the helmet
Making his way through the house and he's thinking, Holy Moly, there's a lot pink!!
Katie made all the little girl's tutu's. How sweet!!
Look at the creative pictures

The food was pink too, haha
The Cake that Katie made.
Emma blowing out her candles, so sweet.

Now on to the boy stuff, yeah! Katie had a bouncer for this party. Skylar was laughing so hard at the girls in there and finally he got his turn to get in there.
BUT... He just ran in there and didn't really jump Playing with the girls the entire time, I suppose they rubbed off on him. This is where he stayed the entire time. Emma has a little kitchen with all the accessories in the kitchen. Let's just say he loved it and now we will end up getting him his own kitchen. hah!

On Saturday, we went to Zeb's 2nd birthday party. I didn't take many pictures, because Terry was at the Tarheel game and I was left to run after Skylar the entire time. Oh my gosh...I feel for all the single mom's out there. I don't know how they do it. I was so busy running after Skylar and trying keep him clean and me (he got strawberries all over his khaki shorts and on my shirt, ha), that I didn't get, but a few pics. Again, he had a BALL!

Loving this train thing. He didn't want to ride it, but he did want to play with the bell the entire time. Such fun!

Our next investment is a swing set. Skylar loves swings!

The Birthday boy!

We have another birthday party next weekend. My neice Yasmine turns 8. I can't wait! More yummy cake, great... :) Diet schmi-et...
